Electronic services
For electronic communication of citizens and entrepreneurs (hereinafter referred to as "users") with the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic (hereinafter referred to as "the Office"), the Office makes available electronic services through which it is possible to quickly and securely file applications for industrial property rights and subsequent documents in electronic form via the Internet.
The Office's electronic services are available through three systems. Users are advised to familiarise themselves with the functions provided by the system before selecting and using it in order to avoid any problems and misunderstandings relating to its use.
Central Portal of Public Administration
The Central Portal of Public Administration (hereinafter referred to as the "Central Portal of Public Administration" or "slovensko.sk") is a public administration information system which, pursuant to Act No. 305/2013 Coll. on the electronic form of exercising the powers of public authorities and on amendments and supplements to certain acts (the e-Government Act), enables centralised electronic official communication with any public authority and access to common modules, in particular via the Internet.

The recipient of submissions is the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic (hereinafter referred to as 'IPO SR').

Advantages of electronic filing
- security (access to the electronic mailbox requires an electronic ID card with a chip (eID card) and a personal security code (BOK code), filings are signed with an electronic signature created by means of a qualified certificate)
- efficiency (saving time, paper, printing, postage, etc.)
- reduction of administrative fees (50 % of the fee determined in accordance with the scale of administrative fees, with a maximum reduction of EUR 70)
Means necessary for electronic filing
Basic information on familiarising yourself with the PSO and its use for electronic communication with public authorities is provided on the PSO under "Getting started." The means necessary for electronic communication with public authorities, detailed user guides, description of functionalities, description of its common modules, etc. are also provided on the PSED.

Electronic Services Portal
The Electronic Services Portal (hereinafter referred to as "PES") of the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic (hereinafter referred to as "the Office") is an access point to the electronic services provided by the Office to its users. The PES of the Office of the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic is available 24 hours a day and 7 days a week.
Access to the PES of the Office of the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic requires identification and authentication of the user by means of an ID card with an electronic chip (eID card), or a residence document with an electronic chip, an alternative authenticator, an authentication certificate or a means of electronic identification from another European Union country (eIDAS node).
The Office shall be the administrator and technical operator of the PES of the Office of the SR.

Online Filing (EPTOS)
Epoline® Online Filing (EPTOS) is a system provided by the European Patent Office ("EPO"). The system allows you to create filings in electronic form and send them to the EPO, the Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic and also to the national offices of some countries.
The Online Filing System (EPTOS) is not covered by Act No. 305/2013 Coll. on the electronic form of exercising the powers of public authorities and on amending and supplementing certain acts (e-Government Act).

Advantages of electronic filing
- security (filings are signed with an electronic signature created by means of a certificate stored on a smart card, communication between computer systems connected to the Internet is encrypted during the filing process by means of the SSL protocol; the certificate is issued by the Certification Authority of the EPO)
- speed (immediate issue of a confirmation of filing, which for new applications includes the assigned application number and the date of filing)
- efficiency (saving time and costs for paper, printing, postage, etc.)
- reduction of fees:
- discount on the filing fee for a European patent application
- 50 % of the fee determined in accordance with the scale of administrative charges, with a maximum reduction of EUR 70
