The IP Academy provides lectures on intellectual property aimed at primary school students. We consider intellectual property education to be extremely important in supporting the development of key competencies in the 21st century. That's why we decided to create lectures that are also in line with the current needs of schools.

 

There are several reasons to choose IP Academy lectures:

• Our free educational activities are mainly focused on interesting and current topics in the field of intellectual property.

• Lectures are intended for any grade of elementary school.

• We can adapt the duration and content of the lecture to the target group.

• Lectures are often combined with activities, the aim of which is to familiarize students with the importance of intellectual property protection in a fun and informative way.

The Academy of Intellectual Property implements the following educational activities for universities:

• Lectures on intellectual property within selected study subjects

• Online workshops on creativity, logo protection, innovation

 

The implementation of educational activities for universities is based on the goals of the Academy of Intellectual Property, which are:

1. Raise awareness of the issue of intellectual property,

2. To provide comprehensible, accessible, high-quality and flexible education in the field of intellectual property for the lay and professional public,

3. Cooperate with relevant institutions in Slovakia, Europe and the world in the field of education and promotion of intellectual property.

• Protect your brand! - Practical trademark workshop about what a trademark is and why every entrepreneur needs it. How to choose a suitable and registrable name for your company or product?

• You have my logo! - We learn best from the mistakes of others. Visit our workshop to do so! Smart companies will avoid many problems in the future by not repeating the mistakes of their predecessors. Case studies of trademark litigation - how to prevent them, what to avoid. Examples of companies that have gone through this process - some successful, some not.

• Brand wants trademark - When building your corporate identity, you should not forget the protection of intellectual property, which has a significant impact on increasing the value of the entire company. Supporting the branding of your company through a trademark (for the company's name or logo), but also through design (e.g. the appearance of the products or their packaging) will not only help you stand out from the competition, but also protect your company from them.

• Events, webinars and workshops aimed at creating an innovation protection strategy – entrepreneurs are often looking for answers to the question of how and whether to patent, register a trademark, or protect the appearance of a product by design. Education for the professional public

 

The goal of IP Academy is also closer cooperation in the field of education of experts in the field of law, various professional organizations, as well as other state and public administration bodies. Individual educational activities are intended for groups with different levels of knowledge in the field of IP protection.

 

1. Introductory seminar on basic issues of intellectual property protection

Scope: 1 day

The seminar is intended for participants who are new to the topic of IP protection. It contains basic topics from the issue of IP (basic concepts, the system of industrial rights - patents, designs, utility models, trademarks, geographical indications and their protection at the national and international level). The introductory seminar forms the basis for further educational opportunities according to the needs of individual target groups, listed in points 2 and 3.

 

2. Seminars and lectures

Scope: 2-4 hours, in the form of seminars and lectures with practical information. Both the scope and form will be adapted to the needs of the target groups and their level of knowledge of the given issue.

 

2.1 Case studies in proceedings before the IPO SR

• Examples of closed dispute proceedings,
• Proceedings in the field of trademark registration.

 

2.2 Registers and databases of IPO SR

• Access to information and search in the web registers of the IPO SR,
• Patent, trademark and design searches,
• International patent classification.

 

2.3 Judicial and extrajudicial protection of intellectual property objects

• Nature of disputes in matters of industrial rights,
• Alternative resolution of IP disputes,
• Commercial law and IP,
• Litigation proceedings.

 

2.4 International Law and Intellectual Property.

• Protection of IP in terms of international law,
• The European system of IP protection.

The Industrial Property Office of the Slovak Republic regularly organizes a long-term educational program on Intellectual Property, which is accredited by the Ministry of Education of the Slovak Republic. You can find more information about this program here.
