Fees - Madrid system

Fees to the WIPO International Bureau pursuant to the Implementing Regulation to the Protocol to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks effective from 1 February 2023

The fees are payable in Swiss francs (CHF).

 International trade mark applications under the Protocol to the Madrid Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Marks (fees are for a period of 10 years) 
Basic fee  

- for a word mark and a black and white trade mark

653 CHF

- for a colour trade mark

903 CHF

Additional fee for each additional class of goods and services if there are more than three classes in the list of goods and services (this fee does not apply if only the parties for which an individual fee is payable are indicated)

Additional fee for the designation of each Contracting Party to which the trade mark is applied for (this fee does not apply to Contracting Parties for which an individual fee is payable)

Deficiencies in the classification of goods and services 

If the goods and services are not classified, the fee is

Fee for each additional term over 20 terms

The fee is only payable if the total amount exceeds CHF 150.


Designation after international registration (extension of protection to other Contracting Parties)
 

The fees shall be for the period from the date of entry into force of the new designation to the date of expiry of the international registration.

Basic fee

Additional fee for the designation of each Contracting Party to which the trade mark is applied for (this fee does not apply to Contracting Parties for which an individual fee is payable)

Renewal of international registration (fees are for a period of 10 years)
