Extending protection abroad

Design protection is territorial in nature. This means that if you want to protect your design in another country outside Slovakia, you must apply to register the design in that country.

If you want to obtain design protection abroad, you can:

1. File individual applications in the respective countries; or
2. File a Community Design Application; or
3. File an international application under the Hague Agreement Concerning the International Registration of Industrial Designs and Models, following the accession of the European Community to the Hague Agreement (Geneva Act).
