It is only possible to qualitatively move public administration organisations one step forward with positive employees and committed managers interested in changing things for the better. Building a quality organisation is a long-distance race with many obstacles to overcome. There are a wide range of ways to approach the streamlining of organisations and one of them is the introduction of quality management. This offers the opportunity to look inside the organisation and then find a way to make improvements, the results of which will be felt not only by the employees, but also by the citizens - the customers of public administration.

The aim of the national project 'Introduction and promotion of quality management in public administration organisations' is to contribute to increasing the efficiency and quality of the management of the activities of public administration organisations through the main activity of the national project, namely 'Development of quality management in public administration organisations'. This activity is divided into two parts:

  1. Implementation of quality management in central government bodies and contributory and budgetary organisations

Under the first part, the implementation of the CAF model, the EFQM excellence model, the ISO 9001 quality management system, the pilot implementation of the ISO 37001 anti-corruption management system and the pilot implementation of the quality culture self-assessment tool will be carried out in the partner organisations, fifteen central government bodies and five budgetary organisations. The implementation, adoption and further continuous development of one of the above mentioned tools in organisations will contribute to the improvement of activities, services provided and especially to ensuring that the requirements of citizens - customers - are met.

2. Establishment of a CAF centre

The second part focuses on the establishment of a CAF Centre in the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Slovak Republic, whose activity will be based on the provision of activities by professional staff and experts in the field of quality management. It will provide educational and consultancy activities for public administration organisations and will also carry out analytical and methodological activities. The aim of the CAF Centre is to raise awareness of quality management in different types of public administration organisations and at the same time to increase the rate of its implementation in them.
