The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has launched the call for applications for the WIPO Global Awards 2025, open to small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups that leverage intellectual property to drive business growth and create a positive societal impact.

Businesses from all sectors of the economy, from any corner of the world, that meet the eligibility criteria are invited to apply. The application period runs from January 15 to March 31, 2025. Winners will be announced in July 2025.

This year's competition is aimed at startups and SMEs worldwide, active in various economic sectors such as technology, agriculture, the creative industries, and more. Applications may include all forms of intellectual property, including copyrights, trademarks, patents, and geographical indications.

Each winner will receive a tailored mentoring program designed to enhance their use of intellectual property, set new business goals, and access financial resources to achieve even greater impact.

An independent jury will select up to 10 winners, who will be invited to the Awards Ceremony during WIPO’s General Assembly in Geneva in July.
