For Authors
Guidelines for Authors
The peer-reviewed Journal Duševné vlastníctvo (Intellectual Property) focuses on the theory and practice of intellectual property and is published twice a year in accordance with the Journal's Statute. Submissions to the Studies section are peer-reviewed anonymously by two independent reviewers, and the final decision on publication of all submissions rests with the editors. The approximate review time is one month.
The handling of articles is governed by the Journal Ethical Standards for all parties involved.
The journal does not charge any fees for publishing an article (no Article Processing Charges, APCs).
The authors of the texts accepted for publication agree to make these texts available for publication in print and on the website of the Journal Duševné vlastníctvo (Intellectual Property), and sign the Licence Agreement. The Journal reserves the right to edit accepted manuscripts.
Articles are subject to linguistic editing. However, poor grammar and lack of necessary editing may be grounds for rejecting a manuscript, even if the content is in line with the journal's focus.
The deadline for accepting studies to the journal is as follows:
- Submissions for publication in Issue 1 are accepted until 15 January; submissions for publication in Issue 2 are accepted until 15 June;

- Submissions to the Commentary section are accepted on a rolling basis and will be published in the next issue.

Authors are requested to adhere to the following requirements:
- Send the manuscript to casopisDV(at)indprop.gov.sk. A template for editing submissions is available at the same address on request, or on the journal's website (at the bottom of this subpage).
 - The recommended page length of the study is 10 to 30 standard pages, with 5 to 10 standard pages recommended in the Comments section.
 - An abstract (10 to 20 lines) and keywords (5 to 8) in both Slovak and English should be attached to the author's article.
 - Under the title of the article, please include the author's name, title, department, exact address and email contact details.
 - References (citations, paraphrases) to the literature should be given in a footnote. Include a reference list at the end of the article. Comments in the text should also be footnoted.
 - Highlight significant passages in the text in bold. For the sake of clarity, it is advisable to divide articles into chapters.
 - Papers are reviewed anonymously by two reviewers.
 - Unsolicited manuscripts are not returned to the authors.
 - The author's manuscript will receive an honorarium if published in the journal.
